Hello, dear friends. Today we will continue to get acquainted with American electric trucks of Mullen brand. We will talk about the Three model, which, like other Mullen trucks, is assembled in Tunica, Mississippi. In the previous post we wrote about the One model, designed for delivery of small-sized cargo in the conditions of narrow streets. The Three is a larger and heavier truck. It has a comparable range, but is characterized by a much larger payload and cargo volume. The cab of this truck has two full seats, while the One has only a driver’s seat.
Where and for how much can I buy a Mullen Three?
The Mullen Three electric car is sold through America’s largest dealer, – Randy Marion Automotive Group, which is based in Charlotte, North Carolina. The price of the new Mullen Three tractor is $68,500.

I think this Mullen Three can be called an electric Cabover. Yes, – the engine is installed not under the cab, but in the frame, but there is no hood at all. In addition, some elements of technical stuffing are installed under the cab.
With a gross vehicle weight of 11,000 pounds, the Mullen Three has a payload of 5,300 pounds. The turning diameter is 38 feet. This truck has very good maneuverability, which is hard to overestimate in the city. The front of the electric truck features a particularly large emblem, the M, which symbolizes two mountains. The spare tire is mounted in the rear part of the truck, under the frame.
Visually, unlike the Tesla Semi, the Mullen electric truck resembles the usual diesel trucks.

After all, I live in Ukraine and collected information about this trak on YouTube videos). And why is there a tachometer on the dashboard? I saw the same solution on the model One. On the center console there is a touch screen display with a diagonal of 7 inches. Nowadays, this is quite standard even for cheap and commercial cars. With the help of this display you can control music, climate and other equipment of the truck. As it is supposed to be on a truck, there are handles on the vertical roof pillars, which you can hold on to.
Technical specifications of the Mullen Three.
The engine is installed not under the cab, but in the frame. It develops power of 120kW. The range of the Mullen Three is 125 miles. The Mullen truck is equipped with a fast-charging function. It can go from zero to 80% in less than an hour. This is probably time the driver can use for a rest.
The batteries are mounted on the sides of the frame and the inverters in the middle of the frame. A driveshaft runs from the motor to the rear wheels. Here the motors are not built into the wheels, as is often the case with other electric cars, when one motor transmits power to one or two wheels, but without gimbal. Perhaps this solution will provide greater reliability and maintainability, which is very important for commercial vehicles.
I’ve never been a fan of electric cars. But the Mullen Three, I think, has huge potential. Now the time is coming when, if not long-haul, then city carriers will switch to electric traction.
